Eagles Fall To 1-4 After Coming Up Short Vs The Bills In 31-24 Loss

Fred Jackson rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown and the Buffalo Bills scored 17 points off five turnovers Sunday to beat Michael Vick and Philadelphia Eagles, 31-24. Indeed, the Eagles (1-4) continued to have trouble getting out of their own way, and this might have been the ugliest of their four straight losses as Vick threw four interceptions, including one that was returned 31 yards by linebacker Nick Barnett for a touchdown. His last pick was more like a fumble, coming when the Eagles were driving in Bills territory with less than two minutes left and Jason Avant had the ball ripped from his hands by Drayton Florence. Barnett snatched it out of the air, giving the Bills possession with 1:49 left. Buffalo lined up for a 4th-and-1 and got Juqua Parker to jump, a neutral zone infraction that gave the Bills a first down and all but ended the game.

Real nice chance the Dream Team doesn't make the playoffs at this point...

I would bet the farm they don't make it. I am starting to think they will be lucky to reach .500.

At what point do people start thinking Vicks 2010 was a fluke?

I'm thinking Vince Young as Head Coach/Player.

Jon Gruden would be perfect, he could lead someone elses team to a Superbowl victory, then mold the team into his own self image of unwavering mediocrity.

Better than Reid? I don't think so...

I didn't say that. Someone just asked who would replace him so I offered the 2 biggest names. I'd take Reid over both of those coaches.

    A) Cowher and Gruden wouldn't come to Philly.

    B) Quit with the Dream Team crap. They didn't dub themselves that. Freaking "I've been a member of this team for 3 days" douchenozzle McSkullScrew dubbed them that and the douche media ran with it.

    C) I was on my way back to MO from Kentucky and REALLY thought that they were going to make a run back to this game. I love how people just jump on Vick when the issue is THE DEFENSE! Yes, the offense didn't put up big numbers til late this week and didn't pour on the points late in the game previous weeks but they've given the Eagles the lead in every game besides tonight's. Juan Castillo is the problem here. He's not putting Aso in a position to make plays. He's not teaching fundamentals such as tackling. Who'd think that would help a team win games? But Andy Reid does deserve some criticism obviously. He made the big decision to make Juan the DC this year. I still stand by that he won't be the DC next year after Howard Mudd dies/retires, whichever comes first. They should have brought in someone who KNOWS defense. Screw, make Hugh Douglas the DC, I DON'T CARE.

D)The Number 1 biggest reason that this team is losing is because theyre making DUMB MISTAKES. 4th and nothing and Jaqua Parker JUMPS!? Freaking really!? Just sit and wait for the ball to be snapped. He doesn't jump and the Eagles tie/win that game in the 4th and at the very LEAST send it to OT. I honestly and truly believe that with a full off season this is a completely different team. But how close are they to 4-1 or 3-2 instead of 1-4 at this point? This teams biggest failure is themselves. They make DUMB mistakes and heck up the fundamentals. Mike Vick is an amazing QB. Dude puts them in a position to win. The 2 picks off of Avant were insane plays. Vick put the ball where he needed to, defense just came up BIG! Honestly, I hope this team goes 0fer the season so we can pick up Andrew Luck (HAHAHAHA NEVER) but honestly, they'll go on a tear after their bye week and miss the playoffs by this much. It's what Andy Reid does. He needs to beg for the bye week to be like week 3.

And Philly would be forever grateful, even if he did tank after bringing in a Super Bowl.

The freaking schmuck at the helm now has proven he is incapable of making it happen.

Reid is not the only one to blame, but cutting off the tail will not kill the snake. This has been too long in the making. smeagle will tell you.

The team needs a shakeup at the top. Simple as that.

The 2 off of Avant were Avant's fault. SECURE THE BALL SON! This guy has a patch work OLine to play with and if hurrying to make plays. I'd still take Vick instead of 90% of the QB's in the league. Sure the 4 INT's didn't help but if the defense HOLDS anything this team could win the game. They're 9th in the league in passing. 2nd in the league in rushing. Offense OBVIOUSLY isn't their issue. 4 INTs didn't help, but that's not the issue. 31 points, 31 points, 16 points, 23 points, 24 points. From an outside perspective at least 3 of those should be wins, maybe 4. Jaqua Parker doesn't encroach, the Eagles get the ball back with 2 minutes to go.
