The National Football League has voted to award Super Bowl XLIX to the bid presented by Glendale, Arizona. After failing to achieve a super majority, Arizona won a simple majority vote over a competing bid from Tampa, Florida to host Super Bowl XLIX, which will be the second Super Bowl held at University of Phoenix Stadium. Opened in 2006, University of Phoenix Stadium was the site of the New York Giants win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. With the next three Super Bowls being held in the eastern part of the United States, Arizona's bid was the favorite today. Tampa has hosted four Super Bowls (XVIII, XXV, XXXV, XLIII), with the last two held at Raymond James Stadium. b]Source:[/b] Mac's Football Blog
And once again Tampa gets laughed at....Why on earth would the NFL want to hold a SB here, all that would do is energize the Nations second worst economy. Good lookin' out rodwads.
they have hosted 4 SB's get over it already...share If the economy dictated the SB's the Lions would host it yearly...
Yeah one every 10 years. My point is the NFL has a chance to help one of their worst economic cities and they chose not to. So when they snitch about the attendance at Bucs game they can kiss my taint.
It's not the NFL's job to save a city's economy. That's on the city. It's the NFL's job to put on the best Super Bowl they can.
Uhhhhhh, I think if you look at past reviews of the SBs in Tampa you'll see they are some of the best. So that's not the reason.
Considering the NFL loves to get local economies to pay for new stadiums, they should give back a bit.
Other then then the fact that the attendence at Bucs games sucks, Tampa will get another Super Bowl in the future. Just gotta wait your turn.
