Raiders Aquire LB Aaron Curry From Seahawks For Draft Picks In 2012, 2013

The Oakland Raiders acquired linebacker Aaron Curry from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for draft picks on Wednedsay. Curry, the fourth overall pick in the 2009 draft, had been shopped around for a several weeks by the Seahawks, who finally found a taker in the Raiders. According to InsideBayArea.com, the Raiders obtained Curry in exchange for draft picks in 2012 and 2013. It is not exactly certain where Curry, who was benched and fell out of favor in Seattle, will fit with the Raiders, who already have Kamerion Wimbley and Quintin Groves starting at outside linebacker. Nonetheless, it is exactly typical of the type of low-risk, potentially high-reward move the Raiders would make and have pay dividends during their heydey, somewhere, Al Davis is smiling and proud.

Good pickup however you look at it. A player who was a top 5 lock on just about every teams' board gets picked up for likely two low round picks.

Just wondering where the hell the Eagles were in this one. Maybe they are satisfied with their linebackers.

Our draft pick pool this year is going to be so bad, lol. But if Curry starts playing like everyone thought he could our LB core will be pretty solid, McClain, Wimbley, Curry.

 

Move Wimbley to DE. He is more of a natural DE then a 4-3 LB

 

If they did that with Wimbley they'd prob have him splitting snaps. Good move however you slice it for the Raiders especially with Mcclain looking like he hurt his ankle.

 

According to Chris Mortensen...........the Seahawks will receive a 2012 seventh round draft choice and a mid-round conditional draft choice (fourth or fifth round) in 2013 based on Curry's playing time.

wimbley, curry, mcclain, groves, jarvis moss.....i see what they are doing up front lol

not to mention seymour, kelly, houston, henderson....theres a lot of 1st and second round picks there lol

 

It's actually pretty smart Ktrain. Get guys that may not have fit certain systems and just coach them up and hope they get half the production you would expect from a 1st rd pick.

 

this is why they are so good in madden.

i think curry would be better in a 34 at this point as a MLB

I disagree. If anything the best scheme for him is a 4-3 because of his lack of instincts. One of the best traits an ILB must have is instincts.
