San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh and Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz will not be fined by the National Football League following their post-game, post-handshake skirmish at Ford Field on Sunday. Via NFL spokesman Greg Aiello's Twitter page: "On Detroit-SF coach incident, fortunately, there was no fighting and thus no basis for a fine. However, both coaches told Ray Anderson today that their post-game conduct was wrong and will not happen again. We believe their response is the correct one and that their post-game conduct going forward will be more appropriate." Following the 49ers' 25-19 win, Harbaugh enthusiastically shook Schwartz's hand and slapped him on the back, an action that Schwartz took immediate exception to. Schwartz followed Harbaugh down the field towards the tunnel, with players and officials from teams stepping in between the two coaches. Will Brinson of CBSSports.com notes that Harbaugh may have had October 16th circled on his calendar. Source: Mac's Football Blog
I am kinda shocked that Roger hasn't issued a fine and or suspension. I swear that guy has a God complex. Glad he stayed out of this though. It really was just a small scuttle. Nothing to get worked up over.
This sends a bad message. They both needed to be made an example of for the rest of the coaches and the players.
Roger is that you?? Second guessing your decision already? It wasn't anything just a couple pissed off coaches they worked their crap out and no real punches were thrown.
Doesn't a a heckfull of sense to me. Get into a cat fight after the game but DON'T YOU DARE SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE OFFICIATING! Oh and Coach Rah don't you dare call one of your players after the birth of his child. Someone kick Goodell in the taint for me.
Goodell is an idiot I agree with his call on this one though. I disagree with pretty much everything else though.
