Early in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's 39-10 loss to the Bears, Vikings coach Leslie Frazier brought rookie quarterback Christian Ponder into the game. Ponder completed 9 of 17 passes for 99 yards and looked like a rookie quarterback. Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer-Press reports Donovan McNabb said he "absolutely" expects to start against Green Bay, adding that he understood the move to play Ponder in a blowout because the "kid's got to get some reps." "I'm going to keep on fighting until the end," McNabb sad. But it appears Frazier isn't sure he'll start McNabb against the undefeated Green Bay Pakcers on Sunday. For the first time this season, Frazier is hedging on his support for McNabb. "We've got to sit down and talk about a lot of things," he said after the game when asked if McNabb will be his starter next week. Does Ponder expect the Green Bay game to serve as his official debut? "I don't know," he said. "Who knows?" Source: The Redzone
Meh, Joe got a wildcat package. One pass, one run, not really a chance to showcase. I think his biggest statement was last year's upset win over the Eagles and what he did coming in down 20 against Chicago before that
The Bears game was far and away his best. Things are that bad. I think the receivers might riot if McNabb starts, they got hit in stride for the first time this season when Ponder went in.
