Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has a sprained right ankle, thanks to linebacker Curtis Lofton rolling into his right leg on the team's final offensive play of Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He sounds doubtful that he'd be ready for Sunday's matchup with the Denver Broncos, according to the Detroit Free Press. "I think every competitor plans on playing," Stafford said on a local radio show, the paper reports. "We'll see if that comes true. I've got to keep getting better to get there, but I want to, obviously." The sprain is "kind of in a weird spot," the 23-year-old told the station as well as that he wasn't sure if he'd practice Wednesday, the paper reports: "We're treating it, doing the best we can, trying to get it as healthy as possible for a chance to try and play this week." Stafford has completed 162 passes for 1,912 yards and 16 touchdowns this season for the 5-2 Lions. He's also already been sacked 14 times in seven games. Source: Yahoo!Sports
This is a shocker.....:sarcasm1: In all seriousness though, I didn't think the kid would ever live up to the hype and I was wrong (at least for now). But I wasn't wrong about him being as fragile as wet toilet paper. That's going to be his achilles heel for his career I think.
Not good for one of my FFLs, since I have BOTH Stafford and Romo as my starting QBs. Time to hit the waiver wire!
