Two years ago, entertainer MC Hammer played a key role as a go-between to set up a meeting that led to receiver Michael Crabtree signing his rookie contract with the 49ers. On Tuesday, Hammer was a guest speaker at a 49ers meeting, as players returned to work after six days off during the bye week. A 49ers team spokesman said Hammer addressed the team Tuesday afternoon about handling the "trials and tribulations" that can easily come along with being a public figure in sports and entertainment. Hammer's appearance was set up by Keena Turner, the 49ers' vice president of football affairs. Some 49ers players went to Twitter to show their appreciation to Hammer for delivering his message.
