Discussion in 'St. Louis Rams' started by BigBlueBruiser, Oct 30, 2011.

  1. John Czarnecki of FOX Sports reports that one unemployed coach mentioned as a potential successor to Steve Spagnuolo if the Rams decide to make a change is former Titans head coach Jeff Fisher, who could be a hot commodity next offseason. According to Kevin Slaten of 590 The Fan, people in relations with the Rams say that owner Stan Kronke has been in contact with Fisher about becoming the next head coach in St. Louis.

I would take Fisher over both of them in a heartbeat. I thought he would have a job 5 seconds after he left the Titans.

Spagnuolo deserves a longer shot than what he's got. That's the problem with a lot of teams in the league anymore and why a lot of them never move forward. The Rams drafted Bradford under Spagnuolo and now are "considering" hiring Fisher in his place. Pretty much any head coach that has a QB drafted in his tenure never gets to actually use that QB at his peak. They're always drafting for "the next head coach."

  5. Which begs the question...if they hire Fisher and get the No. 1 pick.............do they draft Andrew Luck?

Any team that gets the first pick should draft Luck...ANY team...especially with the new CBA in place.

Is the head coach really the problem in St. Louis? Maybe they should give him some better players before they pull the plug on the guy.

If I'm the Rams and you have Bradford you can't draft Luck. Unless you're able to unload Bradford for something fierce. Me thinks you trade that top pick to a team that needs a QB and get a kings ransom in return. You pick up their 1st plus a 2nd and maybe next years 2nd. Andrew Luck might be more valuable to the Rams without ever being on the team.

  9. you trade down and pick up a crap load of draft picks.

You could possibly get two firsts and two seconds for that #1, and may only have to move down a spot

Bradford will probobly only get them a second because he is "damaged goods"

  11. in any event you get a heck of alot, get whatever WR you want, and you still show your confidence in Bradford who is a good young player, regardless of a few injuries.

Head Coach and players aren't the problem, the injuries are. No team has been hit harder by it than the Rams.

Honestly, this is a non news story. Spagnuolo proved his worth as a HC with our rise last season and anyone who pays an ounce of attention to the Rams knows that. A change in coaching will only hurt the teams progress.
