ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that Bengals owner Mike Brown wanted to draft quarterback Arkansas Ryan Mallett with the No. 35 overall pick and had to be talked into drafting TCU quarterback Andy Dalton. According to Schefter, if Brown got his way and drafted Mallett, the Bengals may not have been 4-2 right now and might not been able to trade Carson Palmer to the Raiders for a 2012 first round draft pick and a conditional 2013 second round draft pick that could become a first if the Raiders reach the AFC Championship game in the next two years.
