Raiders Sign Free Agent WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Discussion in 'Oakland Raiders' started by BigBlueBruiser, Nov 1, 2011.

  1. The Raiders have inked former Ravens and Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh to bolster its receiving corps, reportedly at the behest of QB Carson Palmer. Terms of the deal were not immediately available. Palmer, who was acquired last month, wanted the 34-year old free agent in Oakland after the two spent some of Palmer's semi-retirement working out together in California, according to ESPN. Houshmandzadeh played in all 16 games for the Ravens last year, catching 30 passes for 398 yards. He was not re-signed in the offseason.

He's probably not even worth a crap anymore, no one else even gave him a look really. They probably just wanted Palmer to shut the heck up about it already.

Housh will be a nice addition plus the familiarity with Palmer will be good. They got tired of Heyward-Bey dropping passes. If it's one good thing about T.J. is he isn't afraid to lay out for a pass and has decent hands. Baltimore and Seattle didn't use him properly, they just wanted him to run "go routes" the whole time and rarely threw to him.
