Alex Smith threw for 200 yards and a touchdown and Frank Gore ran for 107 yards, as the San Francisco 49ers earned a 19-11 victory over the Washington Redskins. Gore became the first player in San Francisco franchise history to record five consecutive 100-yard rushing performances and David Akers hit four field goals for the 49ers (7-1), who have won six straight for the first time since winning 11 in a row back in 1997. John Beck completed 30-of-47 passes for 254 yards, a touchdown and an interception for the Redskins (3-5), who have lost four in a row. Roy Helu caught 14 passes for 105 yards, adding 41 yards on 10 carries. Jabar Gaffney had a nine-yard touchdown reception.

Happy for the win but they seemed flat today.

Dude that whole game seemed sloppy on both sides. So many dropped passes....they need to clean it up before they play the giants or they lose by more then 2 scores.

With the exception of that Bucs rout they have been grinding out each win. They do need to look a bit more sharp next week than they did the past two weeks against CLE and WAS if they expect to beat a hot GMEN team.

I know SF fans are happy about where the team is going, and they are much improved, but this doesn't look like a legit one loss team to me, at all. They're eking out wins against teams they should be curbstomping (CLE, WASH) and getting lucky against underachievers (DET, PHI)...theyre a playoff team for sure, especially considering the state of the rest of their division but I think they are due for a hard fall back to reality. The future is bright and Harbaughs doing great things, but it's not the future yet and I dont think they are nearly as good as their record indicates right now.
