November 20, 2011 - Madison Square Garden - New York, New York John Cena & The Rock vs The Miz & R-Truth Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. CM Punk for the WWE Championship Mark Henry (c) vs. Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship
That actually was a good match from the last PPV and I have to say one of the better big man matches I have seen in some time. Right now though I am not excited at all about this. It's supposed to be headlined by the Rock and Cena....but why does Cena need the Rock to kick R Truth and the Miz's ass? He did that on his own last night to finish off Raw.
UPDATED CARD November 20, 2011 - Madison Square Garden - New York, New York John Cena & The Rock vs The Miz & R-Truth Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. CM Punk for the WWE Championship Mark Henry (c) vs. Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship Dolph Ziggler(c) vs. Zack Ryder for the United States Championship Traditional 5 vs. 5 Survivor Series Match Team Orton: Randy Orton, Sheamus, Sin Cara, Mason Ryan, Kofi Kingston vs. Team Barrett: Wade Barrett, Christian, Jack Swagger, Hunico, Cody Rhodes
How else can you continue to set up an event that's happening a few months down the line that was set up months and months ago. You know, makes total sense. Then the Rock can "never leave again" for a few months and then come back after the Rumble. It'll be awesome!
Maybe it's WWE killing my interesting but honestly I'm not that excited Rock back. Don't get me wrong he be honest on the mic and such but I don't feel a real sense of excitement
PSID, I tend to agree with that actually. There was a time when I'd make sure I saw the Rock and was SO amped when he came back before Wrestlemania. Now, it just seems kind of forced. Instead of advertising him they need to just let it happen. The only real issue with that is the whole IWC and how it ruins EVERYTHING these days. You know what happens DAYS before it happens and it's so hard to have a good secret. Like the Foley thing. It'd of been so much more awesome if he didn't show up in England and instead just showed up on Raw. And the whole "via satellite" thing is goobered. The Rock's always been SUPER AMAZING because he can play and feed off of the crowd. On those pre taped segments he just shows up and talks with no fan interaction. It seems forced and it's been horribly done. They ruined it.
WWE missed the boat with this last year when it was HUGE. He came back out of nowhere and it was a BIG DEAL. Now it's been a year, and he is finally having a match and im not all that excited TBH. Either you should of done this last year when you brought him back...or you should of waited till THIS YEAR to bring him back and hype this crap up. I don't like the build up...
Updated Card: John Cena & The Rock vs The Miz & R-Truth Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. CM Punk for the WWE Championship Mark Henry (c) vs. Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship 5 vs 5 Elimination match: Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston, Mason Ryan, Sheamus & Sin Cara vs. Wade Barrett, Dolph Ziggler, Hunico, Jack Swagger & Cody Rhodes Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Eve for the WWE Divas Championship
Updated Card: John Cena & The Rock vs The Miz & R-Truth Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. CM Punk for the WWE Championship Mark Henry (c) vs. Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship 5 vs 5 Elimination match: Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston, Mason Ryan, Sheamus & Sin Cara vs. Wade Barrett, Dolph Ziggler, Hunico, Jack Swagger & Cody Rhodes Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Eve for the WWE Divas Championship Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. John Morrison for the WWE United States Championship
Dolph Ziggler pinned John Morrison to retain the US Title after hitting the Zig Zag. After the match Zack Ryder came out and hit the Ruff Ryder Beth Phoenix beat Eve. Who really cares how. Team Barrett defeated Team Orton when Wade Barrett hit Randy Orton with the Wasteland. Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes were the survivors for Team Barrett. Big Show beat Mark Henry via disqualification after a Mark Henry low blow. Shenanigans ensue CM Punk beat Alberto Del Rio to become the NEW WWE Champion with an Anaconda Vice. The Rock and John Cena beat Awesome Truth after the Rock hit the Peoples Elbow on The Miz. After the match the Rock beat up John Cena. Hooray.
I didn't watch the PPV but had a few friends there and saw their tweets. Of course, Everyone wanted Ryder, I for one am glad he wasn't in the match. I feel meh about Ryder. I like him more than Ziggler though. I honestly don't see the hard on for Ziggler. He has the WORST finisher in pro wrestling and can't do any more than yell on the mic. But I digress. Maybe he'll actually become something in the future but I feel the same about him that I do about Rhodes. Meh at best. I'm glad that Punk won the title kind of because I feel of anyone in the WWE he might be able to get that AWFUL title belt changed. From a marketing stand point this is a PERFECT time to do it. Get the new title on Raw or throw it on the shopzone by the end of the week. CM Punk has it it will sell out in MINUTES! Guaranteed. It's time to get a new belt. However, the downside to Punk having the title is now what? Him and ADR continue on their feudish thing? Punk CONSTANTLY buries him on the mic and it's not even fun to watch at this point. Who else is out there for Punk to take on? Johnny Ace apparently still has it out for Punk. Does Miz take him on? What about Truth then? Awesome Truth is one of the BEST teams the WWE has going right now minus that crappy entrance. But where do we go from here? And where does this leave Cena as well? We all know that the Rock is going to go back into hibernation for a few months to make money doing what he does. So now Cena tries to get the title back and take on Punk more? Does he feud with ADR to become the number 1 contender? Does Awesome Truth try to get retribution now that Dwayne has left and they have the numbers? What happens now? And why is Air Boom still the tag champs? Give that crap to Awesome Truth. What does everyone think? You be the booker! How do you see it!
The Del Rio/Punk match was pretty good but Del Rio is an afterthought and the crowd snore through it. Again the highlight for me was Mark Henry. Another good big man match that worked. Cena and the Rock was underwhelming. So the Rock's back...there wasn't reason to care after that.
if i payed for that i would be pissed. the cena rock match was terrible and so was after the match. Idk why but I had a feeling masked kane was gonna come out and save the big show. it would have been great
It wasn't a bad show at all as far as in ring action. It's just WWE's storytelling is the craps right now and they don't give you much reason to care. Punk/Del Rio is worth going out of your way to check out, it was that good of a match. Also, Big Show off the top rope for a flying elbow? WOW. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUArnCHFfEQ]Big Show Elbow from Top Rope - YouTube[/ame]
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. It took him a full minute to get onto the top rope but it was a pretty good elbow drop. Too bad Mark Henry was dead and couldn't get up to defend himself. Oh heck you WWE. I so want to love TNA so that the WWE has to turn out a better product. Not this "I'm going to never leave...well, not until I need to go film another movie that is. Then I'll come back some day, but not today." crap. I'm sick of it!
