Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, Carlos Bocanegra and Tim Howard headline the U.S. men's national team roster for the upcoming friendlies in Europe against France and Slovenia. There's one new face in camp, with Hertha Berlin defender Alfred Morales among the 22 players selected by Klinsmann. Born in Germany, Morales won't be the only German-American in camp, as Danny Williams and Fabian Johnson have been called back into the squad. Landon Donovan has withdrawn from the U.S. men's national team ahead of Friday's friendly vs. France to focus on the MLS Cup Final, U.S. Soccer announced on Monday. Donovan had been named to the 22-man U.S. roster for upcoming friendlies against France and Slovenia, and originally he would have taken part in just the France friendly before returning to the LA Galaxy to focus on the MLS Cup Final, but Donovan and U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Fair enough but give the US fans something to grab onto. Id like more than jusr 1 win against a crapty team. Who cares what Herc has done previous. Gooch looked like crap for the last year and he's back to form. Gomez is tearing up Mexico. See how he plays in a pass oriented, methodical offense.
France is Friday at 3:00 PM EST and Slovenia is the 15th at 12:15 PM EST. Not sure who was called in to replace Donovan at this point. Either way, I want to see Clint and Landon on the pitch together even though Klinsmann doesn't seem to really like Landon. Go figure. Either way, we need to see a win in 1 of these 2 games. I'm all for being patient and trying guys out but we need to get a TEAM together and gel before WC qualifying. If we somehow DON'T qualify for the WC, I don't see Jurgen being the USMNT head coach for a long time. I still want him to freaking call in George John before Greece does. Make the crap happen asswad!
