The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have claimed defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth off waivers from the New England Patriots, Adam Caplan of The Sideline View reports. Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik confirmed the transaction, with newly-signed John McCargo released to add Haynesworth to the 53-man roster. Since signing his $100 million contract in 2009, Haynesworth has 56 tackles and 6.5 quarterback sacks in 26 games. The Buccaneers were outbid by the Redskins for Haynesworth's services that offseason. Haynesworth is owed $705,882 for the remainder of the season and has up to $4.35 million available in incentives, Haynesworth is signed through the 2012 season with a $6.7 million base salary accompanied by a $400,000 roster bonus, $100,000 workout bonus for a cap number of $7.2 million.
