Miami Marlins merchandise is catching on in South Florida."It's been all positive," said Marlins senior vice president of marketing Sean Flynn. "People are buzzing about all that has been happening."The team officially became the Miami Marlins on Friday night. Shortly after the renaming ceremony, merchandise went on sale.Flynn noted that on Friday night, about an hour before merchandise went on sale at 11 p.m. ET at the ballpark, "there was a long line running down the street."

It's not surprising though. It's the same as when the Heat signed their guys. People in Miami buy the uniforms because it's "cool" to be seen wearing the gear. Then they skip the games. That's why it's the worst sporting city in the country. The fans are terrible.

When the Tampa Bay Devil Rays became the Tampa Bay Rays, they won the east and went to the world series. Changing to the Miami Marlins (and signing Albert Pujols) might work out.

Yea sure they might win. But the stadium will be empty when they celebrate.

75,000 plus seat stadium full during a WS.... just sayin. Miami may not go to every game, but they do go during the playoffs.

    A) That was 2003. Miami seemed to give a crap about baseball at that time.

    B) The new stadium holds less than 40,000 people so maybe more fans will come.

    C) Miami is the WORST sports city in the United States. No offense to Albert Pujols or Jose Reyes but they're NOWHERE near Lebron and D Wade. And this is what Miami thinks of them.

That picture means nothing. That was most likely the beginning or ending of the first half, when people were away from the seats. Miami still cares about baseball, just look at opening day. What they didn't care about was the criminal that owns the team, but now he has no more excuses to spend money and that should turn the city around, plus, there is no more risk of a game being rained out.
