Giants Coach Tom Coughlin Likely Out With Another Late-Season Collapse

  1. Giants coach Tom Coughlin is catching massive heat –- again –- from fans and media over another potential Giants collapse. Coughlin is an excellent coach and he deserves the benefit of the doubt. But speculation in league circles is that he won't survive if the team falters again late in the season.

That would be stupid to fire him. The Giants have an absolute BRUTAL schedule. Cut the guy some slack, his team is pretty banged up and they are actually playing really good football. Things just aren't rolling their way. Sometimes with a schedule like theirs you need some luck too. .02

^I agree, they lost a division game, lets let the schedule play out before you plan the guys departure.

  4. If the Giants haven't missed the postseason in similar fashion the last two years.........he'd get a pbutt. But owner John Mara was angry after missing the playoffs for two straight seasons. Hate to say it.........but three strikes and your out.

Hopefully we make a run to win the NFC East.

The thing you have to consider is.. "Will you be better without him"? My guess is no. Coughlin is a damn good coach IMO.

  6. That depends on his replacement..........I would retain Coughlin over getting someone like Jon Gruden.

But I would take Bill Cowher and he'd take that job in a heartbeat if it became available. I only would take Cowher if the job became available I must clarify. I love Coughlin but I don't think management would put up with another playoff-less season.

Coughlin enters the final year of his contract next year and I doubt they'll extend him if we fail to make the playoffs again.
