Bears Sign Free Agent QB Josh McCown

  1. The Bears have signed free agent quarterback Josh McCown, according to agent Mike McCartney. The Bears missed out on Kyle Orton when the Chiefs beat them to him in the waivers process. McCown is a fallback option. He's probably very little threat to Caleb Hanie's starting job. In terms of the depth chart, McCown figures to compete in practice with rookie Nathan Enderle for the primary backup job.

So pretty much Caleb Hanie needs to not suck.

Martz will find a way to make him work. He did last season when Cutler got hurt and almost pulled it off, Plus if Forte can be effective I think they will be OK for the most part.
