Carolina Panthers rookie Cam Newton has set an NFL single-season record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback on Sunday. With three rushing touchdowns today against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Newton now has 13 rushing touchdowns on the season, breaking the previous record of 12 scores by New England Patriots quarterback Steve Grogan in 1976. Newton now has three multi-rushing touchdown games on the season and surpasses Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy for the league lead in rushing touchdowns. Newton has 12 carries for 56 yards on the game, giving the first overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft 520 rushing yards on the season.
