Saints quarterback Drew Brees continues his assault on the passing record book, completing 26 of 36 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Saints to a 31-17 victory against the Detroit Lions at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday night. Brees has passed for 4,031 yards this season, the first player to pass for more than 4,000 yards in the first 12 games of the season. He remains on pace to break former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino's single-season record of 5,084 yards in 1984. By going over the 4,000-yard mark, he is only the second quarterback in history to pass for at least 4,000 yards in six consecutive seasons. In addition, Brees became only the second quarterback in history to complete 30 or more touchdown passes in four consecutive seasons. Source: The Times-Picayune
