The Carolina Panthers have placed rookie defensive tackles Terrell McClain and Sione Fua on injured reserve, Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer reports. McClain and Fua were bookend picks in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft, with the Panthers using the first pick of the round on McClain and the last, compensatory pick of the round on Fua. A training camp injury to Ron Edwards pressed both rookies into the starting lineup, with McClain and Fua starting next to one another for the first 11 games of the season. Fua injured his hamstring during warmups before Sunday's 38-19 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while McClain, who played his college ball at South Florida, re-injured his knee during the game.
