If Jason Garrett now has a great answer for whether he told Tony Romo to clock the ball on the last-minute drive against the Arizona Cardinals, he didn't offer it Wednesday. He wasn't offering anything new about the Cardinals game. "We talked about that after the ballgame, talked about it again on Monday. We're not going to revisit that," he said. "We have a 24-hour rule that we stick with around here, and that talk has gotten a lot of conversation, so we're going to leave it at the 24-hour rule and certainly focus on the next challenge against the Giants." Monday, asked whether he told Romo to spike the ball to stop the clock after Dez Bryant's catch to the 31-yard line, Garrett said, "I don't have a great answer for you on that." Asked Wednesday if he now had an answer for that same question, Garrett said, "I'll answer it the same way. It's a 24-hour rule, and we're on to the Giants. We've been on to the Giants for a couple of days now." Source: Star Telegram
in garrett's defense, Joe DeCamillis told him to call the timeout. I don't think it was the wrong choice to make it cuz I'd personally assume if my special teams coach was in a rush to tell me to take a time out, he saw something wrong that needed to be addressed. yeah, it sucks. sucks a lot. but i think that it's a bigger issue being made than needs to be. the real thing i feel cowboys fans need to be concerned about is bailey's confidence.. who knows if he got full of himself on the major streak, and having missed 2 fgs this game, i feel it could possibly shake him. which would be a much bigger problem.
He didn't call a timeout when he should have to get the Cowboys in closer FG range, and he called a timeout when he shouldn't have which iced Bailey. It happened. Let it go, people. Good grief.:icon_rolleyes: Agree with Rich.
Game shouldn't have been that close any way. Its come down to a FG the last 3 games but this time it bit us in the butt. Besides you cant keep relying on Bailey to bail our buts out at the end of the game all the time.
They should've at the very least attempted to get the ball closer with the timeouts they had remaining...
forget the ill timed timeout. The bigger deal I thought was taking so long to line up and spike the ball. But Garrett is a young coach and he will learn.
Agreed. In the W-L column, there are no asterisks that indicate you should have won by 10 instead of 1. A W is a W.
