John Elway has made it clear he won't heap praise upon Tim Tebow just because he happens to be his team's starting quarterback. But Elway -- the Broncos' executive vice president of football operations -- has a very pro-Tebow feeling as to why Denver continues to pull off unlikely victories like Sunday's against the Chicago Bears. "I think when you look at it, I guess I just believe everyone believes that something good is going to happen," Elway said Monday during his weekly radio spot on KDSP-FM. "Tim's been the guy that has led that thinking and he's just such a strong believer. He's got everyone else believing that if you stay strong, stay positive, that something good is going to happen." Elway's weekly radio spot has become a good barometer on where he stands on Tebow. Elway seemed decidedly underwhelmed by Tebow initially, but he said last week that the QB made "great strides" in a win over the Minnesota Vikings.

If Denver drafts a QB in the first round, or gets rid of Tebow...The fans will riot. I'd hate to be whoever comes in to challenge the guy. I've never cared really about Denver, nor has Denver been this popular IMO in a long long time...good or bad, they are talked about almost everyday...every weeks on TV/radio/podcasts whatever... they are trending...specially with Tebow playing. I don't see how you don't make him the QB of the Future.

Agree Yeah Dude!. The guy just wins and ultimately, that's what you want. They need depth at the position, but they can't take one in the first round. It would be a waste IMO.

No doubt he believes in the man, but this is hardly a glowing testament to Tebow's ability as a player.

and this is exactly why Elway was not happy that Tebow was put in as the starter and hasn't seemed real excited at his success. Elway had a plan to get someone else in there as their QB and this whole Tebow thing has thrown a wrench in it.

John Elway should be on his hands and knee's thanking Tebow for making the Bronco's relevant again.

well, but put yourself in Elway's shoes ........... he wants to win championships, NOT just become relevant and this is exactly Elway's problem........... he feels Tebow will only make them relevant and can't win them a championship so it was about the worst thing that could have happened.

Now, if Elway tries to draft/trade or do anything to replace Tebow, he will be villainized.

Elway needs to put a team around this kid before he says anything about the guy though. Who are his WR's other then Eric Decker? The kid has "IT" I don't know what else to say, he just wins games. He can go 4-16 all game and just something about him in the 4th quarter is Jordan/Kobe/Farve/Elway whatever big star... he just turns it on and you can't stop him. If Elway puts a good team around this kid and he continues to flop, and loses games then yeah, I hear you man but this kid is winning games with virtually nothing but an old Willis McGahee and Eric Decker and some flop WR/TE I think they drafted the same draft as Tebow, his defense is playing so much better then they did with Orton. Look at Sam Bradford right now compared to Tebow. I'd take Tebow over that guy over and over.

Elway wants to win, then you stick with this kid and put a team around him, and when this magic or whatever wears off and he goes 0-16 then yeah grab someone but the minute he grabs a QB in the draft or brings in a Vet he is going to be public enemy number one, he already looks like the guy that doesn't want Tebow to succeed and fail. He is already the villain here.

Also, Elway and Fox were the ones saying this kid wasn't ready and didn't have it. Orton was better and could make the team win now..bla bla bla.

The kid comes in, and look at them now. I bet that pisses them off to no end that they were wrong and these fans were right. Makes them look stupid, but give Fox credit he changed his offense around to fit Tebows strengths and slowly we are starting to see this kid throw some really nice passes. Give this guy some more talent and another OTA, a few years to develop and the sky is the limit.

they need a real QB....elway knows this. having tebow too might be a crazy thing that weve never seen before...he could line up many places and do a lot of things. tebow magic wont work forever though, they are just counting on the lead being within reach with little time left right now
