A healthy Cam Newton is just 166 yards shy of Peyton Manning’s all-time rookie QB mark of 3,739 yards passing. A prime candidate for rookie of the year honors, staying injury-free has allowed Newton to take every snap this season. “I’m lucky,†Newton said, “blessed to have my limbs intact.†Source: CBSSports
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FRAK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!1
and on a related note, 3 quarterbacks in one year may break Dan Marino's 20+ year old passing record. I'm beginning to think that the success of Dalton and Newton has a lot more to do with the rule changes than we are admitting. In comparison to what most of the veterans are putting up this year, the rookie 'phenoms' actually don't look real great, even against mediocre vets.
I think Daltons success is more heavily reliant on AJ Green being there too Cam's success is on the rule changes, is there any doubt that 20 years ago Cam would have been injured within 5 weeks with the way he plays football?
