i'll call this a toss-up. if they had played this game a month ago, i would have given the edge to the niners but they are coming back to earth.

To me this game comes down to if Ben will be able to step into his throws or not (assuming he plays).

This game will be won in the trenches. Who ever controls the trenches will win. Niners oline needs to step up big time.

Pittsburgh (10-3) will face San Francisco (10-3) on Monday Night Football this week, marking the fourth game in MNF history featuring two teams with at least 10 wins and a winning percentage of .750 or better. The 49ers played in all three previous occurrences.

Matt Maiocco broke down the previous three games that the 49ers were involved

    Dec. 14, 1987: 49ers (10-2) vs. Chicago (10-2). Outcome: 49ers 41, Bears 0
    Dec. 3, 1990: 49ers (10-1) vs. N.Y. Giants (10-1). Outcome: 49ers 7, Giants 3
    Dec. 15, 1997: 49ers (12-2) vs. Denver (11-3). Outcome: 49ers 34, Broncos 17

49ers vs. Steelers holds great Monday Night Football historical significance - San Francisco San Francisco 49ers | Examiner.com

Giants in 1990, Broncos in 1997 - both won the Super Bowl.

Sign me up for the loss...lol.

How uninspiring was that performance? Coaches and players alike. Very disappointed.

Really a tough game to watch with Ben throwing flat-footed and unable to scramble. That's the one trait that makes him so dangerous and entertaining to watch.
