The National Football League has agreed to nine-year extensions of their broadcasting agreements with CBS, FOX and NBC. "These agreements underscore the NFL’s unique commitment to broadcast television that no other sport has," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said. "The agreements would not have been possible without our new 10-year labor agreement and the players deserve great credit. Long-term labor peace is allowing the NFL to continue to grow and the biggest beneficiaries are the players and fans." The NFL and ESPN reached a new eight-year extension for the rights to Monday Night Football earlier this season. Current agreements with the broadcast networks were set to expire after the 2013 season. The new extensions will run through the 2022 season and include a few noteworthy changes. The league's Thursday night package on the NFL Network can be expanded, beginning as early as next season, though NBC has added the Thanksgiving Night game to its broadcast package beginning in 2012. Just that there may be more Thursday Night games and the Thanksgiving Night game goes from NFL Network to NBC...
Don't think they'll ever flex Monday night games. To much to rework for travel for teams & fans, hotels, travel, etc. That's why ESPN/NBC flipped Sunday/Monday night. So NBC could flex a day game to the evening.
Okay......so it's all about MARQUE matchups on Sunday and Sunday night....my friend was hoping most GARBAGE evening games would be flexed from either SNF or MNF to Sunday daytime so as to showcase the BEST games in the evening!
kinda hard to change a game from a monday to a sunday. Too much of a headache with the fans coming in. The easy way do it is to schedule traditionally good teams to play each other that game.
