People familiar with the inner workings at Arrowhead Stadium believe Romeo Crennel is a serious candidate to be the Chiefs’ permanent replacement for Todd Haley. This is why: Crennel has head coaching experience. He can work well with general manager Scott Pioli. Keeping him would mean minimizing change on the coaching staff. And it also would enable the Chiefs to bring in Josh McDaniels as offensive coordinator. Source: National Football Post
a 'shot' ? i think it's inevitable. the rumor around k.c. is that pioli wants someone he knows from his patriot days this time around. that pretty much leaves crennel, mcdaniels, and mangini and crennel is the only one he could possibly sell to their fanbase.
He's not selling it to me. If Pioli doesn't get out of his comfort zone, he'll have to be fired after next season. By that I mean hiring a coach that is most qualified, rather than who's a part of the "Patriots way" bullcrap. Also, drafting a FRANCHISE QB.
Nothing wrong with the "Patriots way" it can work. Crennel did have some success in Cleveland. But they should look at other options.
Well, if Crennel can prove he can win in KC, he deserves a shot. If they don't get it right, then I say Pioli needs to go.
Good luck with that, never thought he was head coach material myself. Didn't see a snap of their game today but he wasn't much of a game manager in Cleveland
