Though he was technically outplayed Washington quarterback Keith Price on Thursday, Robert Griffin, III, still looked outstanding in a shootout for the ages at the Alamo Bowl. Next up is the decision about whether RG3, a projected top-10 pick and the second-rated quarterback on Rob Rang's big board, will leave Baylor for the NFL. And the Heisman winner says a decision is coming soon. "Pretty soon," Griffin said when asked when he'd make his decision, though he didn't know what the decision would be. "I have no idea. I'm going to enjoy this right now with my teammates and we'll get to that later." Griffin's stock probably couldn't get much higher than it is now and, unlike Matt Barkley at USC, Griffin won't be one of the favorites to win the BCS title in 2012. But he's pretty clearly a fan of the school that's given him a chance to shine on the national level. "I want Baylor nation to enjoy this," Griffin said. "It's not about me. I've got about two weeks. I'll enjoy this the next day, and then the next day, and then I'll make it." Source: CBS Sports
BS it cant get higher. He is a legit overall #1 prospect and wont get drafted ahead of Luck IMO he is a better prospect then Cam was, even tho alot of there is in the brain department
Have I been living under a rock, but since when has RG3 become a legit NFL QB prospect, let alone top 10? :S
Over 70% completion percentage, one of the best TD/INT ratios. Pretty much the whole team. Oh yeah, he can run too. Did I mention he won the Heisman?
if RG3 stays in college after Barkley did the same, this QB draft class just went from great to 'so so' because there would be a pretty big drop off after Luck (according to the scouts)
I think he's going to the NFL. There is nothing more for him to do in college. Barkley could win a national championship. Griffin can't do that at Baylor, and he won't win the heisman again. He's done all he can do at the college level.
I watched that alamo bowl this mourning and guy can make throws. RG3 wasnt the better passer that game tho. Not to mention how bad those defenses were. He has a big arm. Dude flicks his wrist like mike vick and that ball flys. If i drafted him, id have him sit on the bench til he learns the offense. Those Baylor RBs made his job super easy in that game. He is a great athlete. Im not trying to put him down but I think he isnt ready to take snaps under center and play without the option
Ive always thought of him as a guy you want to sit. He could probobly come in right away and kill it just because the QB position has gotten so easy nowadays and its not that hard for guys like Cam Newton that need work on there mechanics to make an impact. However, him playing early is gonna limit his ability to fix his mechanics
I'd take this guy over Luck, I love this kid I'd want him to be the face of my franchise for sure. Luck is a hell of a player though, I think he is going to be a great QB but I just see something in RG3 that makes me think he's going to be amazing.
i'm not a pro scout but it seems to me that his strengths are brains, accuracy and athleticism. i'm still undecided on his vision and release. i guess time will tell once he gets in the nfl and has to read nfl coverages and make quick decisions with a quick release.
