The Jacksonville Jaguars have contacted the Panthers about interviewing offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski for the Jaguars' head coaching vacancy, according to an NFL source. Panthers first-year coach Ron Rivera confirmed a team had contacted the Panthers about Chudzinski, but would not identify the team until Panthers owner Jerry Richardson had been notified. Rivera also indicated the Panthers would be proactive in trying to keep Chudzinski. Chudzinski, 43, led the Panthers to the most prolific offensive season in their 17-year history. With rookie quarterback Cam Newton directing Chudzinski's diverse attack that featured option runs and downfield passes, the Panthers finished with a franchise-record 6,237 yards. well, i think Chud is a good O-coordinator. He took the fall in Cleveland with Crennel but I really think injuries and a lack of talent hurt his ability to do much while he was there. Not sure how he would do as a head coach, though. Being a good coordinator doesn't necessarily make someone a good head coach.
Take Josh McDaniels, for example. Anyways, I don't think the Panthers would let anyone talk to Chud. We could let McDermott go, though. Even though, the defense's woes were likely caused by the sheer multitude of injuries
There once was a time when he was being hailed as a head coach for a ton of teams. Heres my theory, always ignore stats from Cleveland when looking at coaches.
