Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will interview for the Jacksonville Jaguars head coaching vacancy, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News With the Jets missing the playoffs, an interview could occur as early as this week. Schottenheimer is the son of an NFL head coach (Marty Schottenheimer) and has been the Jets' offensive coordinator since 2006. Prior to joining the Jets, Schottenheimer was the quarterbacks coach with the San Diego Chargers from 2002-05, working with Drew Brees and Philip Rivers. With Schottenheimer joining Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey and Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski as candidates in Jacksonville, it's crystal clear the Jaguars are looking for an offensive-minded head coach with a strong background in quarterback development.
