Green Bay Packers quarterback Matt Flynn has been named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Week, the team announced on Wednesday. Making just his second NFL start, Flynn completed 31-of-44 pass attempts for a franchise-record 480 yards and six touchdowns in the Packers' 45-41 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Between Flynn and starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Packers won four NFC Offensive Player of the Week awards in 2011. Flynn will be an unrestricted free agent in March.

The thing about this though is it could hurt Rodgers' bid for MVP a little bit. Especially going against Brees. Most don't know that during Flynn's 480 yard campaign, Rodgers was the one calling the plays...

I didn't know that Ward, thats pretty awesome. Good way to get Rodgers some mental reps.

Would suck, but anything is better, than getting your QB hurt in a (mostly) meaningless game

True. Ultimately, I think they should do a Co-MVP for Brees and Rodgers...it's harder not to this year...

That would be awesome, but I can live with MVP for Brees, Lombardi for Rodgers :icon_cheesygrin:
