Jets Players Rip QB Mark Sanchez, Wants Team To Bring In Peyton Manning

A season torn by discord and dysfunction prompted several key Jets players and members of the organization to paint a sobering picture of Mark Sanchez, a polarizing figure within the franchise’s walls. They raised serious doubts about his ability to lead the Jets, questioning everything from his practice habits to the organization’s coddling of him to how much of a role he truly played in the team making two consecutive AFC Championship Game appearances, and they also invited the opportunity to replace Sanchez with Peyton Manning. The consensus among players who spoke to the Daily News was that, at the very least, the Jets must sign a legitimate veteran backup to push their young quarterback. “We have to bring in another quarterback that will make him work at practice,†said one player. “He’s lazy and content because he knows he’s not going to be benched.†Several players and members of the organization were asked if the Jets should make a play for Peyton Manning if the Colts, who are expected to select Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 pick in the draft, release him. “Come on. That’s a no-brainer,†a Jets source said. “If you have a chance to get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning and you don’t do it, then you’re stupid. If I could get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning, then, hell yeah, I would trade Sanchez.†Sanchez’s teammates believed that the presence of consultant Tom Moore, who was Manning’s offensive coordinator and mentor during their decade-long run together in Indianapolis, would be a bonus to lure Manning to New York. “We already have his coach — Tom Moore,†one well-respected player said. “Plus, he’s a field general and will get everyone lined up. He will get his playmakers the ball. We can win a Super Bowl with Peyton.â€

Sanchez has taken his last snap from center as a starter in NY. The Sanchez project is over.

peyton's best opportunity to win another SB among teams that need a QB right now is with the Jets by far. Obviously the jets players want him and I'm sure the jets front office and coaches want him.

however, would peyton want to play for Rex or does he view him as a major assheck as the rest of us do ?

    This is funny. Lol.

If the Jets actually got Manning though I wouldn't be laughing.

Then you'd have to play him 2 times a year. And the Jets would be much more of a contender. This will be interesting to see what happens.

And I hate losing to the Jets more than anything else in the world. So that just wouldn't be good. I would rather break my ankle than lose to the jets.

It definitely makes it worse that Rex Ryan is their coach.

That is 100% the reason. I hate losing to Rex Ryan. Pompous butthole. Also Bart Scott.

I agree until I think of Manning sitting down with his agent and going over the staff and roster.
Rex Ryan - Should be the spoon that stirs the pot, instead he's the turd in the pot.
Santonio "Wah Wah" Holmes, an aged Ladanian Tomlinson, Bart Scott's mouth, chicken crap teammates that go to the press anonymously when things go bad, etc. And then moving from the conservative Midwest to New York. At the end of the day, does Manning want to board a sinking ship?
All that said, it sure would wake up the AFC East. Brady/Manning twice a year..yes!

Now for the homer comment: When the 49ers "transitioned" Steve Young into the starting role, Montana was the odd man out and ended in KC. Of course it ended bad in SF and the same could happen in Indy. There's a spot in KC for Manning if he wants it!

Manning should play somewhere that's warm. Would be a lot better on his neck. Cold weather is hell on my back.

Screw the Jets, Miami is a better option. If Manning can make Addai good, imagine what he could do with Bush.

No, not that way. What I mean is Montana got pissed at how he perceived De Bartolo shoving Joe out the door on the heels of an injury and the fans were initially pissed because of their love affair with Montana. Really nothing more than a SF filing a divorce against Montana and feelings were hurt. That's what I meant about turning out bad.

Football wise it turned out great for SF and KC.

    Sorry for the confusion.

Just a few years ago, the Jets brought in a veteran QB, bc they thoght he would lead them to a SB...
