The New York Jets have officially announced that Tony Sparano will be the team's next offensive coordinator. Sparano replaces Brian Schottenheimer, who resigned on Tuesday night after serving in that capacity over six seasons and under two head coaches. Sparano, 50 has extensive experience as an offensive line coach in the NFL, working in that capacity for the Dallas Cowboys (2003-07) and Cleveland Browns (2000) in between stints as a tight ends coach with the Washington Redskins and Jacksonville Jaguars. Sparano's only coordinator experience came with Boston University from 1989-93. Under Sparano, the Jets can be expected to be a run-oriented offense. Source: Mac's Football Blog
