Giants all-pro DE Jason Pierre-Paul made waves in New York last week by guaranteeing a victory over the defending champion Packers. He and his teammates backed up the boast Sunday with a 37-20 divisional round triumph at Lambeau Field, but JPP's Joe Namath days are over -- no promises for the NFC Championship Game on Sunday at San Francisco. "We're gonna go play 'em (49ers), and that's a good thing. It's for a championship and hopefully we go to the Super Bowl," Pierre-Paul said yesterday while declining to make further predictions. "I called it, and it came true, and that's all that counts. We won the game, and we'll move on to the next one," he said after a two-tackle day at Green Bay. "Media blows stuff up -- no (more) guarantees, we're gonna go up there and do our job and hopefully come out with a win." Source: USAToday
JPP has learned it's better not to make calls like that, simply let your play do the talking for you.
