This isn’t a huge surprise, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that New Orleans offensive coordinator Gregg Williams is expected to leave the Saints and join Jeff Fisher in St. Louis. Williams worked for Fisher in Tennessee and the two are close friends. Williams’ defense wasn’t able to produce turnovers at anywhere near the same rate in 2010 or 2011. The Saints’ defense collapsed late in the fourth quarter against the 49ers and if Williams hadn’t already made a decision on his future, the two late touchdowns scored by the 49ers might have sealed his fate. One never got the sense Williams and head coach Sean Payton were especially close and Payton might have been looking to make a change after what happened Saturday.

I knew this would happen. I think the Saints should give the job to Steve Spagnoulo.

Good riddance. Can't freaking hold either of two 4th Quarter leads, heck that. Get out of NO.

He plays that goobered Gunther Cunningham defense where it's man coverage blitzes the whole game. This is why Gunther hasn't had a good defense since the 90s with Derrick Thomas and neither will Williams. That last drive was some of the worst scheme defense I'd ever seen.

The last 5 minutes I about freaking jumped out my seat and threw my TV threw a window. Pathetic. I am still distraught about that crap.

  6. Guys relax. Geez, the D wasn't that bad. Vernon Davis went off and Alex Smith played lights out. Sometimes there is nothing you can do. They had double coverage on Davis.
