The Atlanta Falcons have hired Mike Nolan to be their next defensive coordinator, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports. Nolan spent the last two seasons as the Miami Dolphins coordinator, inheriting a unit that ranked in the bottom third in the league in total and scoring defense. The Dolphins improved to sixth in total defense and 14th in scoring defense in 2010 and were 15th in total defense and sixth in scoring defense in 2011. In both seasons, the Dolphins ranked in the Top 10 against the run. Nolan replaces Brian Van Gorder, who left the team to accept the same position at Auburn University. Source: Mac's Football Blog
this will not go well imho. You can't have 2 guys with vastly different defensive philosophies running one unit.
Not just that, but both are arrogant and want to run it his own way. I can see a Haley Weis situation on defense.
