Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones continues to harbor high expectations for Bruce Carter who fell to the second round of the 2011 draft because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament. "Boy, we wanted him out there," Jones said Tuesday during an interview on the NFL Network according to Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. "It’s remarkable that he even got back out there." With an exceptional season turned in by Lee, when he was healthy [105 tackles in 15 starts], Jones hopes Carter can pair with the second-year playmaker to form an outstanding combo like San Francisco has in Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman. "We all watched Bowman. We watched Willis out there for San Francisco, and boy, did those guys make a difference," Jones said of the All-Pro inside linebackers. "Those guys and our Sean Lee and Carter, this is my dream: [they’re] not exactly the prototype for the makeup of the two guys you’d want in the middle -- you might want more of a thumper, a big guy, to go along with Sean Lee. But if we can keep both those guys out there, adjust our defense, we might be going toward Willis and Bowman area like they have in San Francisco." Source: The Redzone
LOL!!!leave it to JJ to follow other team player personnel modle to build his. Last year it was the Packers winning the Superbowl with the youngest offensive line so he he goes out and drafts a bunch of o line mans. This year he has to have linebackers that plays like the 49ers so expect him to put emphasis on LB in the 2012 draft.
do you think before you post? and I hope he's right. I couldn't be happier if the duo turned out that good.
Don't ask dumb questions. Our linebackers are young, and good.. so we're halfway there. If Bruce can be as good as I want him to be, and add him with Sean Lee.. with DWare on the outside, ewwiee.
