The Patriots receiver is returning to the NFL's title game, changed but not chastened since his time as a spotlight-seeking superstar who crashed the big party two years running as the lead correspondent for the "Ochocinco News Network." After a decade of losing in Cincinnati — and having too much fun doing it — Ochocinco swallowed his considerable ego to fit in better in New England, a franchise that likes its players boring. The payoff: a trip to the Super Bowl for a player who had never won a postseason game. "It's been a learning experience; that's what this has been. This had been one of the most humbling experiences I've ever been in," he said Thursday as he prepared for the Feb. 5 game against the New York Giants. "This is one of the first times I've been about doing exactly what everyone told me to do. It wasn't about the numbers. It wasn't about money. It wasn't about me." Source: USAToday
That's good to hear. It's good for him. I hope it's a sincere feeling too and not just something he's saying for the hell of it. Honestly I'd welcome him back next year if he had the same attitude. Maybe then he'd be able to really learn the offense and contribute.
Ocho is still on the team? lol its pretty sad how little he contributed if they win and he gets a ring he doesent really deserve it
There's going to be players that deserve it a lot less than 85, he did contribute a little bit this season.
i don't believe Ocho can be humbled by anything ................ he's kind of like T.O., Jeff George, Moss, etc. ................ their egos started growing out of control when they were kids, high schoolers, and college players because they were so much better than anyone else on the field and everyone around them coddled them like little children ................... guys like that, and ALL professional athletes to a certain extent, will never be normal human beings mentally and emotionally ............. they are not rooted in reality.
I am shocked how little Ocho contributed, if he's truly humbled I wouldn't mind having him on my team next year, he's a good player, and now he has something to prove that could be lethal
I can't speak for any of those players, other than Randy Moss. But I promise you, living around and in the same town as Moss, he was far from coddled. Everyone around here has always tried to make Randy Moss out to be this bad person, woman beating, drug abusing person.. and he still comes to the community and helps out. Jerry West is from five miles down the road, he is coddled.. I've never once heard of Jerry West doing anything for anybody around here. It's crazy the difference between black and white super star athletes in a white town. And I actually liked the old Ocho Cinco better than I do this humbling one, but I'm glad to see they he can play a role in order to get a chance to win a championship.
