The United Football League announced that Michael Huyghue has resigned from his position as Commissioner of the fledgling league. According to a release, Huyghue announced that the league has "experienced significant funding issues" and felt he needed to step aside while owners attempt to raise funds for the 2012 season. "It seems most prudent that I step aside while the owners work to raise the necessary funds to conduct a fourth season," Huyghue announced. After ending its 2011 season with each team having two of their six games remaining, and losing over $100 million the last two years, the league is committed to playing in 2012, UFL majority owner and founder Bill Hambrecht said.
