ESPN’s Chris Mortensen mentioned this afternoon that the San Francisco 49ers will re-sign QB Alex Smith â€￾only at their right priceâ€￾ while appearing on The Insiders special. The 49ers have made it known that they’re interested in keeping Smith and CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco sees the team offering him deal in the range of $8-11 million per season but limited to two or three years. Despite the teams success this season, they should really consider all of the available options before coming to a decision regarding the quarterback position. Smith certainly had his moments during the playoffs but more often than not he wasn’t able to consistently move the ball through the air. Now that could have something to do with his group of receivers but it’s still a worthy consideration.
