Let's say the NFL gave you a new franchise and they also said you can have 5 players to build that franchise around. Any 5 players from any team in the league. Who would you take? Me........ QB - Tom Brady. Natural leader and a winner. Still young enough to have several years good production in front of him. LT - Along with QB, probably the hardest position to acquire top tier talent for. I'd want someone young and who is looking to become dominant so I'll plump for Jammal Brown. RB - I was going to pick a WR here but as every team needs a play maker on offense but it's hard to pass on LaDanian Tomlinson. DL - Richard Seymour. A guy who can play end or tackle and plays all phases of the game well. Suits either a 3-4 or 4-3 look depending on what the DC would want to do. CB - Has to be Champ Bailey I guess. A guy who can be put on an island and match up with opponents best receivers. Doesn't have to be those positions, can be any you like. Let's here it.....
QB Tom Brady, same reasons as you. LT Levi Jones. Athletic and young. Terribly underrated. MLB Brian Urlacher, the leader of the defense. He is equally good in run support and pass coverage. DE Julius Peppers; pass rush is crucial. I pick him over Freeney because the latter is a bit of a liability against the run. CB Champ Bailey; It's hard to find a good CB these days... some teams don't even have ONE that could be defined as "reliable". Tomlinson would be a good choice, but you can go to war with a lot of runningbacks.
1. Orlando Pace - Great LT 2. LT - best Back 3. Champ Baliey - Shutdown Corner 4. Ed Reed - Good Safety 5. Marques Colston- Great yong recevier Same as on NFLUK.com CB
Vince Young -dude is barely starting imaging 2 yrs LT nedd i say more Demarcus Ware dude is also young and up and comming Champ Bailey see above luis castillo another young DEF guys who cna compliment WAre
Tom Brady- Clutch LT-Perhaps the best player in the NFL. Shawne Merriman-LIGHTS OUT! Chad Johnson-What can't he catch? Walter Jones-Arguably the best OL
I am going to go with a youth movement on my team...if we are building I want some players I can enjoy for the long stretch: QB - Vince Young - Sure he's not the most polished passer out there but his leadership skills are second to none and he's a playmaker in the clutch. He just seems to have "it". RB - Larry Johnson - I am a big fan of a bruising running game and this guy is a sherman tank who can carry the load and rip a long run. OG - Shawn Andrews - This generation's Larry Allen. Wow this kid is a monster. I could build a killer line with him spearheading it. DE - Will Smith - Love this kid. Brings it on the pass rush and is excellent vs the pbutt. A bookend like him will make life alot easier for the LB's and secondary. LB- Shawne Merriman - A dominant a defender out the gate who can only get better. That kind of talent is just scary.
I took the best players at the most important positions. Two of those happen to be Colts (a case could be made for Kreutz at C, but I see that as basically a tie, and Saturday wins the tiebreak for having already worked with the QB of my team). You'll notice that any good offense has a good QB and OL (the cornerstones of any good OL being LT and C), and any good Tampa 2 defense (which is the system I would run) has a great DL (the cornerstone of which is usually the playmaking 3-tech UT) and a playmaking S.
QB- Tom Brady RB- LT WR- Torry Holt TE- Chris Cooley DE- Jason Taylor - I had to have one skin on there
