So, why does Georgia Tech produce so many fast downfield targets? The latest: Stephen Hill, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound emerging speedster who ran a 4.30 today, the fastest time at the combine thus far. The swift clocking at the NFL scouting combine should elevate Hill's draft stock. Hill is hoping to follow in the footsteps of former Georgia Tech wide receivers Demaryius Thomas (Denver Broncos) and Calvin Johnson (Detroit Lions). "Of course, both of us are big," Hill said when asked about comparisons to Thomas. "I’m a little bit taller. I feel like I’m a little bit faster, too but he’s actually heavier. He knew the game well because he was older and things of that nature. Other than that, I’m trying to make my own name, not trying to be Demaryius." Hill wasn't surprised that he ran so fast. It's what he expected. "You know, I’ve been clocked in the low 4’s, 4.4’s," Hill said. "I’m thinking about running a 4.3 but, you know, whatever happens on Sunday happens.I’m trying to go out there and run the fastest 40."

GT is fast becomeing an athletic freak factory at the WR position. Thomas hasnt broken out per say, but he is right there on the cusp (and last year was basically his rookie year)

Hill could very well be the #3 WR and a mid rounder

Seriously. Where the heck do they find these guys. It's there a Big N Fast WR tree on the Georgia Tech campus?

Good thing in the NFL you just run in straight lines in just shorts and a tank top!

  7. couldn't agree more Duke. Let's be straight here Thomas has been far than impressive minus a few big plays.

doesnt matter, they are playing thomas in the exact same BS offense they played at GT...the transition has been too easy for him.

Hill could find the same kind of luck if he goes to denver lol

  9. you mean on the 3 or 4 big plays he made when all he did in college is run a go route?

Dude is far from polished. Last year he succeeded due to competition, his elite size, and the fact that no one was game planning around him. He has A LONG way to go.

Inconsistent hands at best. Dude makes circus catches yet constantly muffs easy ones. Unfortunately for him there's more to being a good wideout than a fast 40.
