Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network is reporting that the Atlanta Falcons plan to explore a contract extension with quarterback Matt Ryan in the coming weeks, according to a team source on Saturday. Currently, Ryan is under contract with the team through the 2013 season so they have some time to get a deal done but addressing his contract could help them get him under contract for a more reasonable price than what he’s currently making.

yep, i wouldn't want to be the person to decide what to do with this guy..........

he's basically the opposite of Eli Manning ............ he's very consistent in the regular season from game to game and year to year ............ you can really build an offense around someone like this ........

however, in crunch time in the playoffs he looks like a totally different qb

Why? Why the hell would you bother to extend the contract of a QB who hasn't even brought a playoff win? Tell him the money is there when he puts together a playoff run

  6. yeah it's Matt Ryan's heckin fault the O.line sucks, the front 7 on defense are mediocre, Michael Turner is almost dead, etc...

Ryan is the 2nd best young QB in the league behind Stafford.
