The St. Louis Rams are actively shopping the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL draft, which most teams expect will turn into Robert Griffin III. The Miami Dolphins have some level of interest in making a deal, but considering Miami’s in viewed as the team in the driver’s seat to land Peyton Manning once he’s released from Indianapolis, and Packers backup Matt Flynn during free agency, a team source told Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel the motivation to give up draft picks for the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback “isn’t very high.†That source said the Rams are asking for a bundle of picks equivalent to the value of the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. They'd better be careful. You figure two of the teams interested in this pick are going to jump out of the discussions with Peyton and Flynn being available...
You make a good point...if teams in the circle of the Browns, Redskins, Dolphins get those 2 QB's then the price tag goes down as well as their ability to keep a high pick themselves
No but I can dream. Manning would be great but I doubt it happens. Alex is officially the bridge at this point, he and Harbaugh are pretty much BFFs, and he buys into and functions somewhat adequately within his system. Harbaugh seems to me to be the kind of dude who wants things done his way within his system, bringing in Manning who has always been more or less able to run things his way and be his own boss runs totally counter to that. I dont think Harbaugh would even be interested. He'd rather make do with Alex for now and bring Kaep/Tolzien along under his wing and his alone.
why does everyone only keep mentioning a few teams that 'need a qb'? i count 10 teams that blatantly and obviously need a better QB and there's a few more that are on the bubble that could be 'mystery' teams ...................... now, whether all 10-15 teams that are not getting very good qb play would pay for a free agent or give up the draft picks is a different story but there are a LOT of teams that potentially could be thinking about improving that position.
