Hines Ward might be remembered as an all-time Steeler, but it appears the team didn't waver over ending its relationship with the 14-year veteran. One day after the Steelers announced their plans to release the durable wideout, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Thursday that Ward wasn't offered a chance to take a pay cut. Ward had two years and $8 million remaining on his contract. The Steelers dropped him out of their starting lineup Nov. 13 in Cincinnati, and he played sparingly for the remainder of the season. When you dont want somebody around you dont ask them to take a paycut lol....from what i heard...and maybe the resident Steelers can answer...they did the guy a solid and threw him some bones to get him to 1,000 career catches, a 3rd of them behind the line of scrimmage?
nice, Art II is the freaking man he just makes decisions that have to be made. yeah the steelers slanted and screened the hell out of ward to get him his 1000, the dude just cant play anymore, hes always been a hoax of a #1 WR...its nothing personal, theres just better options on the roster already
