Gregg Williams Releases Statement Regarding Bounty Program

St. Louis Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has released the following statement regarding his involvement in a bounty program while with the New Orleans Saints. "I want to express my sincere regret and apology to the NFL, Mr. Benson, and the New Orleans Saints fans for my participation in the 'pay for performance' program while I was with the Saints. It was a terrible mistake, and we knew it was wrong while we were doing it. Instead of getting caught up in it, I should have stopped it. I take full responsibility for my role. I am truly sorry. I have learned a hard lesson and I guarantee that I will never participate in or allow this kind of activity to happen again." The National Football League's investigation into the program revealed that Williams administered the program. Commissioner Roger Goodell will handle the discipline, which could involve fines and/or suspensions of individuals, as well as the forfeiture of draft choices.

Schefter reporting that Williams had a similar program in place while he was with the Redskins. Got to wonder if it goes back to Buffalo/Tennessee.

Also wonder if any legal action will be taken by players injured by Williams coached teams. If my career was ended on a suspect play and this came out, it'd be on my mind.

I saw a guy already tweet that lawyers for players have already contacted him about filing lawsuits.

 

Well, can't say I am shocked. Disappointed, but not shocked.

 

I don't give this piece of crap any credit for ousting the Saints. If he said anything while he was with the Saints i'd give him credit. He doesn't want the players doing this to his new team and that's all he gives a crap about. Roger Goodell is also a giant piece of crap for not banning this c**k sucker from coaching. You can regret it all you want but you tried to end careers basically. The only thing that would be a fair punishment is to ban him from football.

 

...everyone in the NFL plays like this. Just because they don't outright bet on it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Go listen to locker rooms and post game interviews.

If you really don't believe me and think I am full of BS like MJ does I will set down a page and a half of freaking links about it, but honestly you can google it. Really its not that hard.

 

I'd rather you do it considering you are the one making the claims. Burden of proof is on you. Im asking for links of active players talking about taking kill shots as you claim, not former players trying to gloss over the situation and make it better for a coach that he loves.
