The next several weeks will be replete with speculation about the next destination for now former Colts QB Peyton Manning. But one of the four-time MVP's former teammates says you can cross 16 teams off the list right now as future employers. "If you're in the NFC, you're out. The Mannings (won't) play a regular-season game," said NFL Network analyst and Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk, referring to Peyton and Giants QB Eli Manning. "They're not gonna stop each other from going to the Super Bowl. Meeting in the Super Bowl? How great would that be for the family?"

you know, this crossed my mind and is the reason i'm viewing the inner-division rival redskins as an outsider even though many think they are a front-runner.

eliminating the whole 'conference' because one of them wouldn't want to knock the other out of the playoffs? that takes it even one step further.

then, will peyton WANT to beat the Colts twice a year or will he want to avoid playing them twice a year? If he wants to avoid playing the Colts, you can eliminate a few more teams from contention.

I could see the NFC East not being considered, but not the entire NFC.

yep, unless marshall has some inside information that peyton already has his sights set on a particular afc team.

It's not like AFC and NFC teams never play during the regular season. I guess if he went to the AFC East, Peyton wouldn't play against Eli for 4 more years.

yes, and i think it would make sense that they wouldn't want to meet in the playoffs so the story may have some traction.

Why wouldn't he? The Cards might consider Reggie Wayne as well...

Bring in Jeff Saturday as well. The O-Line is the only reason I can think of that Manning wouldn't want to be a Card.
Manning, Fitz and Wayne. One can only dream.

Yes, Manning should sign with an AFC team...I know I don't want him going to any team in the NFC West...hehehehehehe

I think he's going to go wherever he has the best chance to win, AFC or NFC. It's not his job to make sure Eli gets to the Super Bowl.

Sorry to hear that you'd be disappointed if he signed with the 49ers.

But with a healthy Manning on board, especially if you get a Reggie Wayne as well you can turn all ur resources toward the o-line.

With the Cardinals...Brown probably won't be back either if they get Manning. Even of they don't get manning, Brown may not return. So a bad O-Line is going to theoretically get worse.

I don't think Manning in Arizona is a terrible fit. But I don't think it's the best. Anywhere he goes I think there's going to be growing pains. I feel like he will wind up in Miami, I think he'd be most successful in KC.

eh, colts had a terrible oline and manning survived. hes quick with the ball, doesnt take a lot of hits even with smurfs blocking for him

    My thoughts exactly

Me and just about everyone living in the Phoenix area believe if Whiz were to let Grimm go and get a halfway decent O-Line coach that the situation would improve. But that's the fan talking.
