The Vikings have released cornerback Cedric Griffin. The Vikings selected Griffin in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Texas. Over the last six seasons, Griffin has started 70 of 80 games, totaling 377 tackles and eight interceptions. Griffin was signed through 2014 and was scheduled to earn $4.15 million in base salary and workout bonus. His release clears $3.65 million in cap space. Source: Mac's Football Blog
eh, i don't think the vikes are being aggressive enough in getting rid of their weak/old pieces ........ They need a total re-build like the colts are going through.
Agreed, Stubbing. There aren't any players over 30 on the roster that need to stick around. Supposedly Spielman wanted to blow things up last year, but there was that damn triangle of authority which prevented him from doing so.
I agree too guys but I just never see the organization drafting good past the 2nd round and they never pick up free agents so I don't see how they will rebuild. They never like to address the defensive backfield for some reason.
Well they certainly aren't going to sign quality free agents with over paid and under-performing vets eating up the salary cap. Drafting a CB with the their first pick in the 2010 draft is addressing the backfield, isn't it?
Yea and we see how that turned out, and plus they should have took Patrick Robinson instead of Cook. He is performing pretty decent for the Saints but Cook hasn't done anything but get injured and do OK on Megatron for a couple passes.
