Bears Interested In Trading For Colts DE Dwight Freeney?

It was reported yesterday that the Indianapolis Colts are fielding telephone calls from teams interested in All Pro defensive end Dwight Freeney. According to Len Pasquarelli of the Sports Xchange, the Chicago Bears are very interested in making a deal for Freeney. “If, as indicated by an ESPN report on Friday, the Colts are listening to offers for defensive end Dwight Freeney, word is that the Chicago Bears, who want to find a pass-rush partner for Julius Peppers, will be one of the teams in their ears,â€￾ Pasquarelli wrote today. Freeney has played his entire 11-year career in Indianapolis working in the same Cover 2 system run in Chicago.

Anyone know what the Colts want for Freeney in return?

 

For someone else to be willing to pay him without them cutting him

 

And for that reason I think he would be a solid investment. extend him and rework his deal, and for a 5th, 6th or 7th you have another elite rusher for a couple seasons

 

Anyone else notice how the Bears love to hoard great pass rushers. I mean I can't really talk being a Giants fan but crap.

If the Bears trade for Dwight Freeney without having to give up a 1st or 2nd round pick, thats a bargin in my eyes. If the Bears got Freeney, Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford would crap their pants.

That would be an intense Pass Rush...damn. Quarterbacks would be crapting their pants in the pocket.

 

This further makes me hate the Bears even more. Freeney and Peppers? That should be illegal.
