The Dallas Cowboys have signed cornerback Brandon Carr to a five-year, $50.1 million deal according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Source: The Redzone
You know why the contract was for $50.1 million, don't you? Carr wanted the contract to be more than what Finnegan got from the Rams.
??? Did Goodell say the Cowboys couldn't waste their money on overpriced corners? I don't remember him saying that.
Overpriced? You do realize both Newman and Trufant got 10 million a year in 2008 right. 4 years ago This is the going rate for good young starting CB's Or are you just pissed because the Eagles arent going to repeat as OffSeason Champions this year?
I'm glad it's 5 years/50 mil. I was gonna be pissed if it was in that 35-45 mil range. Carr should work out well for you guys. He has trouble catching the ball and will give up an occasional big play, but he does his job for the most part. Well, better than you guys are used to!
You paid more guaranteed money to a player most had never heard of before this offseason than we did to one of the best cornerbacks to ever hit the market last year. But yeah, I'm just bitter.
And I still don't understand your picture. You think he 'got back at Goodell' by inking a huge contract for a cornerback?
Goodell took away cap space from the Cowboys and Skins. Both teams have still gone out and spent millions on free agents. Thus its a big old heck you to Goodell and rather simple to understand.
So how is that a heck you? They still can't spend that money, no? They still are at least $5 million short of what they could have spent before, right? Hmmm.
