Peyton Manning has told teams that he plans to make a decision on his future Monday or Tuesday, according to league sources. Manning, who worked out for the Broncos on Friday and did the same for the 49ers earlier in the week, has told the Titans he’ll throw for them, though the site and time of that workout is unclear. Teams also are being cautious about banking on a decision happening earlier in the week, because the process already has gone so long. But that is the timeframe the free-agent QB provided. A source said earlier Friday that the parameters of the five-year, $90 million contract that Manning signed with the Colts in August are serving as the starting point for negotiations on his next NFL deal.

It's about time he makes up his mind. This has gone on too long.

You seriously feel like 10 days is taking too long to make a decision that involves many tens of millions of dollars and the legacy of one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever take the field? Come on man.

You'd say the same exact thing if the 49ers weren't involved in this. YOU come on!:icon_rolleyes:

No, I wouldn't. They weren't involved until yesterday and you didn't see me crying OH THIS IS TAKING SO LONGGGGG. To expect someone to rush into a decision of this magnitude is ridiculous, it hasn't even been that long at all. Ten days.

I don't think 10 days is a long time and this decision affects not only Peyton but his entire family. With what is at stake I'm actually surprised that he's not letting this go longer than the 10 days considering the 3 teams involved are spread throughout the US. Oh and FYI, Peyton had the decency to let the Cards know because they were sitting there with Kolb and paying him a crapload of money, Peyton could have been a rod and just said he hasn't made a decision and it will be some time before he can.

10 days is not too long for a decision like this. when he was first released, the story came out that he would decide in 6 days, which seemed absurd to me. Sure enough, we have gone way past that.

I was guessing this would be at least a 3 week process so if he makes a decision early next week, it will still be fairly quick.

Ya I'd say his decisions has come pretty quick. I mean come on were talking what50 60 70 mil, plus moving to a new city.

Common Peyton, come to SF. Steve Young said it best if Manning wants to win a ring SF is his best bet.

10 Days is not too long, to me its much too short of a period to make a decision. By the way Ragman the Saints aren't an option so I am not saying this because my team is involved.

What happened to him staying in the AFC because he didn't want to compete with his brother. I want him to stay in the AFC.

I think the brother thing was overplayed, I think he wanted to stay in the AFC cause thats where he is comfortable but I think if he can go to a superbowl contender like the 9ers why wouldn't he? He wants to win now, the 9ers are his best chance.

i doubt he wanted to be in the same division with his brother but eliminating the whole NFC seemed like a lot. Maybe he wants AFC and he's just using the 49ers as extra leverage over the broncos and titans?

That's a word that should be used in every story with multiple teams attached to it. You don't know which teams are really interested or which teams are planted by the agent...

In this situation, Tom Condon stands to make a lot of dough not only for Manning, but for Smith as well!
